Secondary Supply Teachers & Cover Supervisors New

I'm currently expanding my pool of Supply Teachers and Cover Supervisors for secondary schools across Brighton and the surrounding areas.

This is predominantly flexible, day-to-day supply work, and I think it's important to explain what that actually means before somebody applies.

You choose the days you're available.

I work with the schools to find you suitable bookings.

Some work will be arranged in advance. Some won't.

And there will naturally be busier and quieter periods throughout the academic year.

For people who genuinely want flexibility, though, it can work extremely well.

Schools can start contacting me from around **6:30am-and sometimes before-**when they've had an unexpected staff absence.

So, if you've told me you're available that day, there's a chance your phone could ring pretty early.

That's part of day-to-day supply.

Other bookings might be confirmed the afternoon before, several days ahead or even further in advance. But if you're open to same-day work, being responsive in the morning will give you access to considerably more opportunities.

This is probably the most important part.

If you only want two days of work each week, that's fine.

If you're semi-retired and only want the occasional day, that's fine.

If you're fitting supply around another commitment, that's fine too.

I care much more about whether I can rely on your availability than how much availability you give me.

If you tell me you're available on Monday and Thursday, I need to know there's a reasonable chance you'll be able to work when I call on those days.

And if something changes? Just tell me.

Good communication makes day-to-day supply much easier for everybody.

I'm looking for qualified teachers across a range of secondary subjects.

You'll generally need QTS or an appropriate equivalent, and bookings can range from general daily cover through to subject-specific and longer-term teaching.

This can work particularly well for teachers who want to stay in education while stepping away from the demands of a permanent timetable.

You do not need QTS to work as a Cover Supervisor.

You'll supervise lessons using work prepared by the school, manage classroom behaviour and help keep pupils engaged while their usual teacher is absent.
