Are you confident, well-organised, and interested in gaining experience in education?
We are looking for reliable individuals to work as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Rhondda Cynon Taf. This role is ideal for anyone wanting to explore a career in education, build classroom experience, or take on flexible work that fits around other commitments.

Many people who start in this role go on to teacher training or long-term positions within schools.


As a Cover Supervisor, you will take charge of the classroom in the teacher's absence, delivering lessons that are already prepared. Your main focus will be to keep students engaged, on task, and working in a positive environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering pre-set lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students
  • Maintaining classroom discipline in line with school expectations
  • Creating a focused and productive learning atmosphere
  • Completing attendance registers and following safeguarding procedures
  • Supporting students in completing assigned work
  • Providing feedback to teaching staff after each session

  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • Two professional references covering the past two years
