Secondary schools are busy, rewarding and never boring. If you thrive in that environment, we want to hear from you.

Teaching Personnel is recruiting secondary teaching assistants for schools across Horsham and Crawley for September 2026. These are full-time roles for motivated, enthusiastic individuals who want to make a real difference to the lives of secondary-aged students - whether that's helping a student finally grasp a concept they've been struggling with, or simply being the consistent, supportive adult they look forward to seeing each day.

Whether you are a graduate taking your first step into education, an experienced TA looking for a fresh start, or someone transitioning from youth work, support or another people-focused career, we have opportunities that are worth getting excited about.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in classroom and intervention settings, working alongside subject teachers.
  • Providing targeted support to students who need additional help with learning, concentration, confidence or behaviour.
  • Assisting with revision, exam preparation and structured intervention programmes.
  • Building positive, professional relationships with students that motivate and encourage them to achieve.
  • Supporting pastoral and behaviour teams where needed, acting as a trusted and consistent presence.
  • Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with teachers and support staff.

Who we're looking for

  • A motivated, positive and professional individual who enjoys working with secondary-aged students.
  • Experience in a school, youth work, support or care setting is beneficial, though a genuine passion for education and young people is equally valued.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with students, staff and parents.
  • Resilient, adaptable and able to manage a varied and busy school environment.
  • Full-time availability from September 2026, Monday to Friday, term-time.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
