Job Title: Second in Charge of English

Location: Basingstoke

Position Overview: Are you an experienced and passionate English teacher ready to take the next step in your career? Our forward-thinking school in Basingstoke is seeking a dedicated individual to join us as the Second in Charge of English. This is a full-time role with opportunities for advancement and professional development within our English department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head of English in leading and managing the English department, supporting the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative curriculum plans that meet the needs of all students.
• Provide guidance and support to English teachers, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Lead on specific initiatives or projects within the department, contributing to the overall success and development of English provision.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Significant experience teaching English Language and Literature to secondary school students.
• Proven leadership abilities and a track record of effective collaboration within a team.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to promoting a positive learning environment and driving improvements in student outcomes.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
