Teaching Personnel are excited to be recruiting on behalf of a new purpose-built independent school supporting young people aged 8–16 with Autism, Emotional Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and associated mental health needs, including developmental trauma.

The school provides a therapeutic, multi-disciplinary approach to education, combining teaching, therapy and family support to help learners successfully re-engage with education. Facilities include specialist classrooms, sensory integration spaces, therapy rooms, a workshop, polytunnel and Forest School provision.

We are seeking a qualified Science Teacher who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of vulnerable young people. This is a full teaching role, including planning, preparation and marking, with dedicated PPA time provided.

The successful candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Deliver engaging, well-planned and structured Science lessons

• Have high expectations and aspirations for all learners

• Be adaptable, flexible and creative in their approach

• Enjoy working with students who may struggle to engage with education

• Be comfortable teaching within small classes, often with a 1:3 staff-to-student ratio

• Work collaboratively as part of a highly supportive multi-disciplinary team

• Build positive relationships based on trust, respect and consistency

This setting offers a unique opportunity to teach in an environment where relationships come first. With no uniforms, staff addressed by their first names and a culture of mutual respect, the school provides a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for both students and staff. With a small cohort of around 12 students, teachers can focus on individual progress and make a genuine impact every day.

This is an ASAP start with the opportunity to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
