Smile Education are currently recruiting for a passionate and committed Science Teacher to join a successful secondary school in the Wolverhampton area.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a school where staff play a key role in shaping not only academic outcomes, but also the confidence, ambition and future aspirations of young people. The school has a strong focus on helping students become independent learners who are willing to ask questions, think critically and challenge themselves.
The Science department is an important part of the wider school community, with an emphasis on making learning engaging, relevant and accessible to all students. Teachers are encouraged to bring energy and creativity to the classroom while maintaining high standards and clear expectations.
The school is looking for a teacher who can build positive relationships with students and create a classroom environment where pupils feel confident to participate, explore new ideas and develop a genuine interest in Science. In return, you will be joining a supportive team where collaboration and professional development are valued.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging and purposeful Science lessons.
  • Teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Biology, Chemistry or Physics at GCSE level.
  • Creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking and a passion for Science.
  • Differentiating and adapting lessons to meet the needs of pupils with SEND and other additional needs.
  • Assessing, marking and providing constructive feedback to support student progress.
  • Working collaboratively within the Science department and contributing to the continued success of the faculty.
  • Maintaining high expectations for learning, behaviour and student achievement.
  • Supporting the wider development of students through positive relationships and effective classroom management.
The School Are Looking For
  • Science ECTs or fully qualified Science Teachers.
  • Experience teaching Science within UK secondary school classrooms.
  • Strong knowledge of the Science curriculum.
  • Experience teaching GCSE Science and familiarity with relevant examination boards.
  • A confident, professional and engaging classroom presence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to inspire curiosity and enthusiasm for Science.
  • Flexibility, reliability and a genuine passion for supporting student progress.
  • A commitment to creating a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
