Supply Desk is working in partnership with a supportive and well-regarded secondary school in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, to recruit a committed and enthusiastic Science Teacher for a September start.
This role is ideal for a passionate science specialist who enjoys engaging students in practical and theoretical learning and is dedicated to helping pupils develop curiosity, critical thinking, and a strong understanding of scientific concepts.
As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring pupils and supporting strong academic progress.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging science lessons in line with the National Curriculum
- Teaching across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (specialism considered)
- Preparing students for assessments and GCSE Science
- Delivering practical lessons safely and effectively
- Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment
- Assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback
- Differentiating lessons to meet a range of learning needs
- Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and achievement
- Working collaboratively within the science department and wider school team
- Building positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Secondary Science (KS3 and/or KS4)
(ECTs welcome with relevant science placements) - Strong subject knowledge in at least one science discipline
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
- An enthusiastic, organised, and engaging teaching style
- Availability to start in September
- Ability to commute to Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire
- Pay in line with MPS/UPS, dependent on experience
