Role Overview:

As a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching and learning of Science across the school. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Classroom Support: Assisting Science teachers in delivering engaging and interactive lessons, providing one-to-one support to students who may require additional help, and ensuring that all pupils are able to access the Science curriculum effectively.

  2. Practical Demonstrations: Assisting with practical experiments and demonstrations in the Science laboratory, ensuring that equipment and materials are prepared and set up correctly, and providing guidance and support to students during experiments.

  3. Resource Creation: Collaborating with teachers to create and prepare teaching resources, including worksheets, diagrams, and practical activities, to enhance the learning experience and cater to the diverse needs of students.

  4. Assessment and Feedback: Supporting teachers in assessing student progress and achievement, marking and providing feedback on Science assignments and coursework, and tracking student performance over time.

  5. Extra-Curricular Activities: Assisting with Science-related extra-curricular activities and clubs, such as Science fairs, STEM workshops, and field trips, to enrich students' understanding and appreciation of Science outside the classroom.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Science or a related discipline, with a strong academic background and a passion for the subject.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
  • Enthusiasm for education and a willingness to learn and develop as a professional educator, with a commitment to supporting the academic and personal growth of students.
  • Adaptability and resilience to work in a dynamic school environment, with the flexibility to take on new challenges and responsibilities as required.
