Smile Education is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and community-focused primary school in the Denton area of Greater Manchester, seeking a reliable and hardworking School Cleaner to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys helping to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for children and staff.
The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the school, helping to ensure classrooms, communal areas and facilities are hygienic and ready for pupils each day.

The Role
As a School Cleaner, your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning classrooms, corridors, communal areas and other school facilities.
• Cleaning and maintaining toilets and welfare areas.
• Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors.
• Dusting and wiping surfaces.
• Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately.
• Following cleaning schedules and school procedures.
• Using cleaning products and equipment safely and correctly.
• Reporting any maintenance, health and safety or cleaning issues to the appropriate member of staff.
• Helping to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for pupils and staff.
• Working as part of a wider school team.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential.
• Experience working in a school, nursery or other professional environment is advantageous.
• Good attention to detail.
• A reliable and responsible approach to work.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good time-management skills.
• A positive and professional attitude.
• An understanding of the importance of safeguarding and confidentiality.
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

Requirements

• Right to work in the UK.
• Ability to provide appropriate employment and/or character references.
• Previous cleaning experience is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education.
• A commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children.
