We are seeking a highly organised, professional and enthusiastic Office Administrator to join a dedicated team and play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the school.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with excellent administrative and customer service skills who enjoys working in a busy environment and interacting with children, staff, parents and visitors.

Office Administrator

Full Time | Term Time – 8am – 4pm (Monday – Friday)

Location: Newcastle / Northumberland

The Role

As the first point of contact for the school, you will help create a positive and professional impression whilst ensuring the smooth running of the school office.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing reception duties and welcoming visitors to the school
  • Handling telephone and email enquiries professionally and efficiently
  • Maintaining pupil records and school databases
  • Supporting attendance monitoring and reporting
  • Processing admissions and pupil information
  • Assisting with school communications, newsletters and correspondence
  • Providing administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team
  • Managing school bookings, appointments and calendars
  • Processing orders, invoices and general financial administration
  • Ensuring compliance with school policies, safeguarding procedures and data protection requirements

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous administration experience, ideally within an educational setting
  • Possesses excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Has strong ICT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrates outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • Has a friendly, calm and professional manner
  • Maintains confidentiality and discretion at all times
  • Has excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Experience of school information management systems such as SIMS, Arbor or Bromcom would be desirable but is not essential.
