If you're considering a career in education but would like to gain hands-on classroom experience before stepping into teacher training, this could be the perfect opportunity.

We're working with schools across the Bournemouth area who are offering a unique salaried teacher training pathway. This two-year programme allows you to earn while you learn, gain valuable school-based experience and work towards achieving your PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Your first year is all about building confidence and understanding what life in a school is really like. You'll be working in the classroom every day, supporting pupils and developing the skills needed for a successful teaching career.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising classes during teacher absences
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects
  • Supporting pupils with their learning and behaviour
  • Building positive relationships with students and staff
  • Developing classroom management techniques
  • Gaining a strong understanding of school life and educational practice

This year provides an excellent foundation before moving into formal teacher training.

Once you've completed your first year, you'll progress onto a fully funded teacher training programme, working towards your PGCE and QTS while continuing to gain valuable classroom experience.

During your training year, you'll develop skills in:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons
  • Assessing student progress
  • Classroom and behaviour management
  • Adapting teaching to meet different learning needs
  • Professional practice and reflective development
  • Salary of £23,000 - £27,000
  • Fully funded PGCE
  • Support towards achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Ongoing mentorship from experienced education professionals
  • Practical classroom experience from day one
  • A long-term route into a teaching career
  • The opportunity to remain within the same school throughout the programme

We're keen to hear from graduates or career changers who are passionate about education and making a difference in young people's lives.

To be considered, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's degree (or be due to graduate)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive, proactive attitude
