Your role is showing them how to explain them properly.

As a Religious Education Teacher, you will guide KS3 and KS4 students through structured discussion, reasoning, and written responses.

Key responsibilities
Teach Religious Studies across KS3 and KS4
Guide discussions and debates
Teach ethical and philosophical concepts
Support structured written answers
Prepare students for GCSE exams
Maintain respectful and focused lessons
Track student progress

The classroom environment
Discussion is controlled and structured
Students listen and respond respectfully
Lessons are calm and well organised
Behaviour remains consistent

Skills and experience
Experience teaching RS or humanities
Strong communication and questioning skills
Ability to manage discussion
Clear lesson planning

What success looks like
Students provide structured answers
Confidence improves in speaking and writing
Lessons remain productive and focused

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with Theology, Philosophy, or humanities backgrounds
