About the Role

As a Reception Teaching Assistant in Rotherham, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils as they begin their educational journey.

Working alongside the class teacher, you will help deliver engaging and creative learning activities that align with the EYFS curriculum. You will support children's development across all areas of learning, encouraging independence, confidence, and a love of learning.

This role may include supporting individuals, leading small group activities, and helping to maintain a positive and stimulating classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils within a Reception classroom setting
• Assist with the delivery of EYFS learning activities
• Promote early literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
• Support children's social and emotional development
• Provide one-to-one and small group support where required
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and parents
• Follow safeguarding procedures at all times

Candidate Requirements

• Level 3 CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent qualification (essential)
• Experience working within Reception or EYFS settings
• Good understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
• Warm, patient, and enthusiastic approach
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
