Are you passionate about supporting students to achieve their full potential? We are seeking a dedicated, organised, and enthusiastic Raising Achievement Officer to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you will play a key role in monitoring student progress, identifying barriers to achievement, and coordinating targeted support. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about education who wants to make a positive difference to students' academic progress, attendance, engagement, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging, inclusive, and effective learning activities.
  • Encourage students to take responsibility for their learning, progress, attendance, and personal development.
  • Help students develop effective study skills, time management, organisation, and revision strategies.
  • Provide appropriate pastoral and emotional support to students, helping to improve confidence, resilience, and engagement.
  • Work with students who may be at risk of underachievement, helping to identify appropriate strategies and support.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress, attendance, engagement, and support where required.
  • Work collaboratively with external professionals and agencies where appropriate to support student achievement and wellbeing.
  • Assist with the organisation and delivery of mentoring, intervention, revision, and enrichment programmes.
  • Contribute to meetings, progress reviews, and discussions regarding student achievement and support strategies.
  • Support the school in promoting high expectations, positive behaviour, good attendance, and a strong culture of achievement.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Good IT and administrative skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and work with student data.
  • The ability to identify concerns, respond appropriately, and work proactively to support students.
  • A proactive, adaptable, and solution-focused approach.
  • The ability to motivate and encourage students to take ownership of their learning and development.
  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
