Our esteemed teaching agency is seeking compassionate individuals like you to join our team as a PRU Teaching Assistant in a nurturing special needs school.

What We Offer:

  • £12.90 per hour/ £83.85 per day
  • Monday – Friday
  • 8.30am-3.30pm working hours
  • Training available 

 

What Does the Job entail?

  • Collaborating with the teaching team to create a safe and nurturing classroom environment that promotes positive mental health and emotional well-being.
  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them develop coping strategies, manage anxiety, and build resilience.
  • Assisting students in accessing educational materials, facilitating their participation in classroom activities, and promoting engagement and interaction.
  • Encouraging the development of social skills, emotional regulation, and self-esteem.
  • Documenting and reporting observations of student progress, behaviour, and well-being to the teaching team.

 

Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for supporting the mental health and well-being of students with special needs.
  • Experience working with individuals who have mental health challenges (previous experience in a school or mental health setting is preferred).
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • An understanding of safeguarding practices and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
