Are you a passionate and engaging Psychology Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic Psychology Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you'll inspire students to develop their knowledge and understanding of psychology through engaging, thought-provoking, and well-structured lessons.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and inclusive Psychology lessons in line with the relevant curriculum and examination specifications.
- Teach Psychology to students across a range of abilities, supporting them to develop a strong understanding of key psychological theories, concepts, and research.
- Develop students' knowledge of areas including social, cognitive, developmental, biological, and clinical psychology where appropriate.
- Encourage students to think critically, analyse psychological research, and apply theories and concepts to real-world situations.
- Prepare students effectively for GCSE, A-Level, or other relevant Psychology examinations.
- Assess, monitor, and record students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic development.
- Create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, discussion, independent thinking, and participation.
- Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement, and respect within the classroom.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, parents, and the wider school community to support student progress and wellbeing.
- Contribute to departmental planning, resources, enrichment activities, and wider school initiatives where required.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Psychology and the relevant curriculum or examination specifications.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and thought-provoking Psychology lessons.
- A passion for Psychology and a commitment to inspiring students to develop their knowledge and critical thinking skills.
- A commitment to raising attainment and supporting students of all abilities.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
