Psychology Graduate TA needed in South Manchester

Have you recently secured a Psychology Degree and want to start your career in teaching?

Do you want to utilise your transferrable skillset and gain hands-on school experience in a secondary school?

Teaching Personnel are working with a Secondary School in Stockport who are specifically looking to add a Psychology Graduate to their team after Easter holiday, until the end of the academic year (July 2024). Though this is a temporary position, the successful applicant who excels in the school environment will be given the opportunity to take on a permanent role at the school, starting in September.

The school is based in the heart of Stockport, and is a 5-minute walk from the nearest tram and bus stops, so it is easily accessible for applicants using public transport to travel in and out of the city centre. In addition, applicants with a vehicle should find the commute easy from surrounding areas such as Altrincham and Stretford.

Benefits:

-          Potential to earn up to £90 per day (depending on experience)

-          Gain hands-on school experience alongside very supportive and welcoming staff

-          Good public transport links and secure onsite car park

-          Opportunity to gain a longer-term contract with the school dependent upon requirement, success and availability

The school is looking to hire an organised and confident graduate with a good theoretical background and transferrable skills, therefore previous experience working in a school or with children would be extremely beneficial, though it is not essential. In this role applicants will be expected to have clear communication skills and be able to show strong capabilities of relationship building with students. Additionally, applicants will be expected to provide 1:1 tutor support and host interventions with smaller groups of students who need further support.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
