Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic, compassionate, and motivated Psychology graduates to join schools across Gateshead as Graduate Teaching Assistants. This is an excellent opportunity to develop valuable practical skills while making a genuine difference to the lives of young people.

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to help students achieve their learning goals
  • Build positive and trusting relationships that encourage confidence, engagement, and wellbeing
  • Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Assist with tailored interventions designed to meet individual learning and behavioural needs
  • Help promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
  • Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with teaching staff and school leaders
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
