Are you a passionate, caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity within a primary school?

We are currently seeking dedicated and reliable Teaching Assistants to work across a wide range of welcoming primary schools throughout Wakefield.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, graduates looking to gain experience within education, or individuals who are passionate about supporting children and considering a future career in teaching.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils with their learning and development. You will work closely with teachers and other members of the school staff to create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.

The role will provide you with the opportunity to gain experience across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, depending on your experience, interests and the requirements of the school. You may support pupils individually, work with small groups or provide general classroom support to help lessons run effectively.

Working across different schools can also provide valuable experience of a variety of classroom environments, teaching styles and approaches to learning.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A minimum of a Level 2 Certificate in Early Years Education or Childcare is an advantage, but not mandatory.
• Previous experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting.
• Basic first aid certification is an advantage, but not mandatory.

Responsibilities within this role include:

• Planning and deliver small group tutoring or catch-up programmes.
• Helping pupils stay engaged and motivated with their learning.
• Working closely with the class teacher to support pupils’ individual needs.
• Undertaking break time and lunch time duties as directed.
• Maintaining good working relationships with colleagues, students and parents/carers to ensure a brilliant level of communication.
