Academics, an established Education Agency, are acting as an agency and are recruiting a Primary Teaching Assistant to work on a temporary, ongoing supply basis across a variety of welcoming and supportive primary schools throughout Sheffield.

This Primary Teaching Assistant opportunity offers flexibility whilst allowing you to gain valuable classroom experience supporting pupils throughout EYFS, KS1 and KS2. Some Primary Teaching Assistant roles in Sheffield may also involve supporting pupils with additional needs within mainstream classrooms.

Position: Primary Teaching Assistant

Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply

Pay: £92.56 - £95 per day (paid via PAYE, no umbrella company fees, inclusive of holiday pay, dependent on experience, training, qualifications and client rate available)

About the Role

Working as a Primary Teaching Assistant in Sheffield, you will support teachers in delivering engaging lessons while helping pupils achieve their full potential within welcoming school environments.

The Primary Teaching Assistant role in Sheffield includes classroom support, intervention work and occasional 1:1 support where required, making every day varied and rewarding.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
• Deliver intervention sessions
• Assist with classroom organisation

• Follow safeguarding procedures

Candidate Requirements

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
• Previous school or childcare experience
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
