Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming local primary school in Chester-le-Street, starting in September.

This is a flexible role where you may work as a general classroom Teaching Assistant or provide 1:1 support, depending on the needs of the school.


As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
  • Work with small groups or individual pupils to support learning and progress
  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils where required
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment
  • Support children with additional needs, including SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working in a UK primary school setting
  • Ideally have experience supporting pupils with SEND
  • Be patient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting children’s development
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Be reliable and committed to working full-time, term-time only
