Job title: Primary Teaching Assistant

Hours: Full time – Monday – Friday (term time only)

A vibrant and inclusive primary school in Cardiff are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a Year 1/2 class. The successful candidate will provide general support to the teacher and students, assisting with a range of classroom activities and helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons
  • Provide one-on-one support to students who may need extra help
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour management
  • Help with the setting up and tidying away of resources
  • Support students with their learning activities, including literacy and numeracy tasks
  • Regularly assess student progress and provide feedback to the teacher
  • Establish positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Assist with playground duties and lunchtime supervision as required

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working in a primary school setting is desirable but not essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient and positive attitude, with the ability to support students with a range of abilities and needs
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A willingness to contribute to the wider school community

This is a full-time position, paying £12.90 per hour, with the potential for the role to continue into the next academic year. The position is available to start as soon as possible.
