KS2 Teacher – Maternity Cover

Location: Portsmouth suburbs

Start Date: November 2026

Contract: Full-time, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM Pay:

Paid to scale (£170 – £233 per day)

A large, well-established primary school in the wider Portsmouth area is seeking a KS2 teacher to cover maternity leave starting November 2026. This is a full-time role with full class teacher responsibilities, for two terms.

The Role:

 You will be responsible for planning, teaching, and assessing a KS2 class, working closely with year group colleagues to ensure consistency and shared planning. The role includes full teaching responsibilities and offers the opportunity to contribute to wider school life.

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualified Primary Teacher with experience in KS2
• Confident in managing classroom routines and expectations
• Able to work effectively as part of a team
• Skilled in adapting teaching to meet a range of pupil needs, including SEND

Requirements:

• UK-recognised teaching qualification
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
• Compliance with DfE and Safer Recruitment standards
