Supply Desk are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Southampton. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, personalised and differentiated learning to pupils with a range of additional needs, supporting their academic progress, personal development and emotional wellbeing. You will play a key role in creating a positive classroom environment where every pupil feels valued, supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support pupils with a variety of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, Physical disabilities, Moderate and Complex Learning Difficulties 
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate records in line with EHCP targets.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, parents and external professionals.
  • Promote positive behaviour, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support engagement and achievement.
  • Encourage pupils to develop their independence, communication and social skills.

Requirements

  • Passionate about delivering high-quality, inclusive education and supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Experience or understanding of supporting pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs and learning difficulties.
  • Committed to supporting pupils both academically, socially and emotionally.
  • A confident and adaptable classroom practitioner who can differentiate learning to meet a range of individual needs.
  • A strong communicator who works effectively as part of a wider school and support team.
  • Able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
  • Professional, patient, reliable and resilient in their approach to teaching and supporting pupils.
  • Dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom where every pupil feels valued and supported.
  • Committed to helping pupils achieve their individual potential while developing their confidence, independence and life skills.
