Salary: £29,344–£44,919

This is the year where things start to click.
Pupils begin to understand more, explain more, and take ownership of their learning.

As a Year 4 Teacher, you will guide pupils through a stage where independence, confidence, and consistency begin to develop properly. Your role is to provide structure while encouraging growth.

Key responsibilities
Teach the Year 4 curriculum across all subjects
Plan lessons with clear outcomes and progression
Support pupils with different learning needs
Encourage independent thinking and organisation
Monitor progress and provide targeted support
Maintain a structured and positive classroom environment
Work closely with support staff and parents

The classroom environment
Lessons are calm and predictable
Pupils understand expectations
Learning is consistent and progressive
Behaviour is managed positively

Skills and experience
Experience teaching lower KS2 preferred
Strong classroom management
Clear planning and delivery of lessons
Ability to build positive relationships

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with primary teaching experience
