YEAR 1 PRIMARY TEACHER

Location: Aylesbury
Start: September 2026
Full Time: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: £29,344–£44,919

This is the year where school starts to make sense.
Routines become habits, and children begin to work things out for themselves.

As a Year 1 Teacher, you will guide pupils from early learning into more structured lessons, helping them build confidence, independence, and consistency in their work.

Key responsibilities
Teach the Year 1 curriculum including phonics, literacy, and maths
Support the transition from EYFS into structured learning
Establish and maintain clear classroom routines
Encourage independence and engagement
Track progress and support pupils at different levels
Communicate effectively with parents and staff

Skills and experience
Experience in KS1 or early primary
Strong understanding of phonics and early development
Calm, consistent classroom management

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with KS1 or early years experience
