Teaching Personnel are working with a Children's Secure home based in Morpeth (NE61) and they are seeking a full time Teacher to start immediately. They Accommodate for young people ages 11-16 that may have experienced, challenging and/or criminal behaviour, family breakdown, risks to themselves and others, remanded by the courts to reside in secure accommodation, actual abuse or serious risk of abuse, absconding and placing self and others at risk. 

Many young people have experienced rejection, significant loss or change. Some may have suffered emotional, physical or sexual abuse. The house staff have the skills to engage with young people through their understanding of child development and relationship skills. If you think this role is for you, you must provide the following in order to be considered for the role. 

A successful candidate must provide the following

  • Must hold a DBS an enhanced DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for one
  • PGCE with QTS 
  • Patient and Reliable
  • Experience working with people with SEN / Disabilities / Care/youth Worker
  • be confident supporting children and young people
  • Able to drive (preferred) 

Roles / responsibilities

  • Provide group activities and work on a 1:1 basis with children
  • Work alongside teachers and support with developing resources
  • Support pupils to engage in their work and regulate any challenging behaviours

This role is due to commence ASAP and will be required until the end of the academic year, with the potential of being extended. Due to the role being required on a long term basis, we are able to negotiate your daily rate on your behalf, starting from £150.00 per day.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
