The Role: As a Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEN to reach their full potential. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one support to students with SEN, tailoring activities to meet their individual needs.
  • Assisting in the planning and delivery of differentiated lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Implementing behavior management strategies to support students’ social and emotional development.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to assess student progress and contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Promoting independence and self-confidence among students, fostering a positive learning atmosphere.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are advantageous but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
