Primary SEN Support Assistant

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and nurturing Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in the BB3 area on a temp-to-perm basis. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with complex additional needs and who can bring energy, positivity and patience into the classroom every day.

The role:

  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday
  • Supporting primary-aged pupils with complex SEN needs
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists and support staff
  • Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support
  • Supporting pupils with autism, communication difficulties, sensory needs and challenging behaviours
  • Encouraging engagement through creative, interactive and structured activities
  • Building positive relationships to support emotional regulation and development
  • Helping to create a fun, safe and nurturing learning environment
  • Supporting with personal care where required

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with children within SEN, care or education settings
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with complex additional needs
  • A proactive, outgoing and positive personality
  • The ability to stay calm, patient and resilient in challenging situations
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Confidence supporting pupils with autism and behavioural needs
  • A nurturing and adaptable approach to learning and care

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
