PMLD Support Worker

Teaching Personnel is a leading education agency dedicated to providing high-quality staffing solutions to schools nationwide. We are seeking an enthusiastic PMLD Support Worker to work within a supportive environment, assisting students with complex needs to access learning opportunities and thrive. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing personalised care and support to students with profound and multiple learning disabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students with PMLD, assisting with personal care, mobility, and communication.
  • Support students in their educational activities, implementing tailored strategies and resources to meet their individual needs.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive environment where students feel valued, safe, and encouraged to participate.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff members to develop and implement individualised support plans for students.
  • Assist in the delivery of therapeutic interventions and activities, following guidance from qualified professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to students' progress, behavior, and care routines.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with Special Educational Needs ideally within a school or care setting desirable.
  • Familiarity with specialised communication methods and assistive technologies used in supporting individuals with PMLD.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a positive impact in the lives of individuals with complex needs.

You will need to have an Enhanced DBS certificate (or be eligible to apply).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
