Pay: £172.98 per day

Are you currently completing your PGCE and looking to gain valuable classroom experience before receiving your QTS? Teaching Personnel are recruiting enthusiastic and motivated PGCE students to work as Secondary Supply Teachers across Newport, Cwmbran, and Pontypool during the summer term.

This is the perfect opportunity to build confidence in the classroom, develop your teaching skills, and establish strong relationships with local secondary schools before September.

Successful candidates will deliver engaging lessons, manage classroom behaviour effectively, and support pupils in achieving their full potential while covering lessons in the absence of the regular teacher.

  • Gain hands-on teaching experience before achieving QTS
  • Build confidence managing secondary school classrooms
  • Work flexibly around your availability
  • Develop relationships with local schools ahead of September vacancies
  • Start earning immediately after completing your PGCE
  • Strengthen your CV with valuable school-based experience
  • Potential long-term and permanent teaching opportunities available

At Teaching Personnel, we work closely with a wide range of secondary schools across South Wales. Many of our partner schools recruit directly through us, meaning PGCE students who perform well during the summer term may be considered for full-time teaching positions from September 2026 once QTS has been achieved.

This makes the role an excellent pathway into your first ECT teaching position.
