The Role
As a PE Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and purposeful lessons that inspire students to develop a lifelong interest in physical activity and sport.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality PE lessons across the secondary age range.
- Creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment where all students can succeed.
- Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement.
- Supporting students to develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and leadership skills.
- Assessing student progress and adapting lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
- Encouraging participation in a wide range of sporting and extracurricular activities.
- Contributing to the wider life of the school and supporting opportunities for students beyond the classroom.
- Building positive relationships with students, colleagues and the wider school community.
The Ideal CandidateThe successful candidate will:
- Be a qualified PE Teacher or an ECT with a relevant teaching qualification.
- Have experience teaching PE within a UK secondary school setting.
- Be passionate about promoting physical activity, sport and healthy lifestyles.
- Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Be able to deliver engaging lessons that challenge and motivate students.
- Be committed to maintaining high expectations and supporting every student to achieve their potential.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be enthusiastic about supporting extracurricular sport and wider opportunities for students.
