Are you a passionate and dedicated PE Teacher looking for an opportunity to inspire and motivate students in a diverse secondary school setting? Teaching Personnel is delighted to present a full-time position for a PE Teacher at an Ofsted Good, diverse secondary school in Levenshulme. This role commences in September for the full academic year, with the potential for permanency based on performance. The salary for this role is in line with PayScale (£30,000 - £46,525).

Role Overview:

As a PE Teacher, you will play a crucial role in promoting physical activity, health, and wellbeing among students while fostering a love for sports and fitness. You will have the opportunity to deliver engaging and dynamic PE lessons that cater to students' diverse interests, abilities, and needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality PE lessons that encompass a range of sports, games, and activities, tailored to the needs and interests of students.

  • Skill Development: Provide instruction and guidance to help students develop fundamental movement skills, sports-specific techniques, and tactical understanding across various sports and physical activities.

  • Fitness Promotion: Encourage students to lead active and healthy lifestyles by promoting the importance of physical fitness and wellbeing through practical demonstrations and theoretical understanding.

  • Inclusive Practices: Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered to participate and succeed in PE, regardless of their background or ability.

  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess students' progress and attainment in PE through observation, skill assessments, and performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support their development.

  • Extra-Curricular Activities: Organize and lead extracurricular sports clubs, teams, and events to provide students with opportunities for further skill development, competition, and enjoyment.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification with a specialization in Physical Education.

  • Passion for promoting physical activity, health, and wellbeing among young people, with a commitment to inspiring and motivating students through PE.

  • Experience teaching PE at the secondary level, with a strong understanding of curriculum requirements, sports coaching principles, and assessment practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds and abilities.

  • Knowledge of a range of sports, games, and physical activities, with the ability to adapt teaching approaches to suit the needs and interests of students.
