Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pastoral care and support to students, addressing their emotional, social, and behavioral needs in collaboration with teachers and other stakeholders
  • Build positive relationships with students, offering guidance, encouragement, and a listening ear to help them overcome challenges and achieve their full potential
  • Implement strategies to promote positive behavior, conflict resolution, and effective communication among students, fostering a safe and inclusive school environment
  • Work closely with the SENCO and other support staff to identify and address any barriers to learning, providing tailored interventions and support where necessary
  • Collaborate with external agencies, parents, and carers to develop holistic support plans for students facing complex issues

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a pastoral or support role within an educational setting is highly desirable
  • Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to promoting the welfare and well-being of young people
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A genuine passion for supporting students' personal and social development, enabling them to thrive both inside and outside the classroom
