We are looking for a compassionate, proactive and dedicated Pastoral Lead to join our specialist education team. This is a key role focused on promoting student wellbeing, personal development and positive engagement in learning for young people with additional needs and barriers to education.

As Pastoral Lead, you will help create a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where students feel valued, respected and empowered to thrive. Working closely with staff, families and external professionals, you will play an important role in removing barriers to learning and supporting positive outcomes for every learner.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing daily pastoral and wellbeing support to students
  • Delivering 1:1 interventions, mentoring and tutorial support
  • Supporting behaviour management, attendance and safeguarding processes
  • Using de-escalation and restorative approaches to support students effectively
  • Facilitating student voice activities, including meetings and wellbeing initiatives
  • Supporting the delivery of PSHE and wider wellbeing programmes
  • Building positive relationships with parents, carers and external agencies
  • Attending safeguarding and multi-agency meetings where required
  • Monitoring and recording pastoral information to support student progress
  • Supporting colleagues and providing additional cover where needed

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A Level 3 qualification (or above) in a relevant field
  • English and Maths qualifications at Level 2 or equivalent
