This is a highly rewarding role where you will be working with small groups of children who may need additional support with social, emotional, and behavioural development. You will help create a safe and supportive environment where pupils can build confidence, develop positive relationships, and re-engage with learning.

We'd love to hear from you whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant, have a background in pastoral or behaviour support, or are someone with the right mindset and attitude to support children who need a fresh start.

Why This Role Stands Out:

  • Flexible working options to fit around your lifestyle and availability
    * Competitive weekly pay from £470
    * Opportunities within nurture provisions across EYFS, KS1 & KS2
    * Small group-based support with a strong focus on emotional wellbeing and behaviour
    * Warm, welcoming schools with strong support systems
    * Guidance and support from a dedicated consultant with experience in ALN and classroom-based roles
    * Quick and straightforward online registration and timesheet process
    * Routes into longer-term and permanent positions for the right candidates
    * Refer-a-friend reward scheme

Who We're Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children in an educational or childcare setting (desirable)
    * Understanding of emotional wellbeing, behaviour support, or pastoral care
    * Confidence in building positive relationships with pupils who may need additional support
    * A calm, patient and consistent approach in the classroom
    * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
    * Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
    * Two recent professional references
    * A genuine commitment to supporting children's personal and emotional development

If you're looking for a role where you can make a real difference in children's confidence, behaviour, and engagement in learning across Newport primary schools, this could be the perfect next step.
