Are you a qualified Nursery Practitioner looking for a flexible position in Birkenhead?

Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a Nursery Practitioner to join a friendly and established early years setting in the Wirral. You’ll work with children from six months to five years old, supporting their care, learning and development throughout the nursery day.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys getting involved in activities, understands how young children learn through play and takes pride in helping every child feel settled, safe and included.

• Setting up interesting and age-appropriate activities
• Supporting learning through play and child-led exploration
• Helping children develop their confidence, communication and independence
• Completing observations and recording developmental progress
• Supporting children’s personal care and daily routines
• Encouraging positive relationships and social development
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised nursery environment
• Sharing relevant updates with parents and carers
• Working closely with colleagues to plan around children’s interests and next steps
• Following safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies

You will need:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years
• Experience working in a nursery, preschool or early years setting
• A working understanding of the EYFS framework
• Confidence completing observations and developmental records
• A caring, patient and dependable approach
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine interest in how young children learn and develop
• The ability to commit to full-time hours

Experience working as a Key Person or supporting children with additional needs would be welcome.

• Monday to Friday
• 8:00am to 6:00pm, or 1:00pm - 6:00pm, or 8:00am - 1:00pm
• Weekly pay through Teaching Personnel, PAYE

The nursery is based in Birkenhead and may suit applicants travelling from nearby areas such as Prenton, Tranmere, Wallasey, Bebington, Rock Ferry and central Wirral.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
