Smile Education is recruiting for a Non-Class Based SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school near Coven, Wolverhampton. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher with experience supporting children with SEND to work across the school, delivering targeted interventions for pupils with a range of additional needs.
This is a non-class-based position, offering the opportunity to work with mixed-ability groups and individual pupils, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
The Role
As the school's Non-Class Based SEN Teacher, you will:
- Deliver targeted interventions for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
- Work with mixed-ability groups and individual pupils to improve progress and engagement.
- Plan and deliver personalised learning programmes tailored to individual needs.
- Work closely with the SENCO, class teachers and Teaching Assistants to ensure pupils receive the right support.
- Monitor pupil progress and adapt interventions where required.
- Contribute to EHCP reviews, Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and pupil assessments.
- Promote an inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Essential: Experience working with children with SEND either within a specialist SEN setting or within a mainstream primary school supporting pupils with additional needs.
- A strong understanding of adaptive teaching and inclusive practice.
- Experience planning and delivering targeted interventions to support pupils with a range of learning needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
- A patient, caring and resilient approach with a genuine passion for inclusive education.
- The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, Teaching Assistants, the SENCO and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
Requirements
To be considered, you must:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Have experience working with children with SEND in either a specialist SEN environment or a mainstream primary school.
- Be able to provide two years of professional references, including comments on your work with children.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one through Smile Education.
