Full Time: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: £29,344–£44,919

Music lessons only work when there is structure behind the creativity.
Without that, confidence drops quickly.

As a Secondary Music Teacher, you will teach KS3 and KS4 students both practical and theoretical aspects of music, supporting them to develop confidence and skill over time.

Key responsibilities
Teach Music across KS3 and KS4
Deliver practical and theory lessons
Support performance and composition
Prepare students for GCSE coursework
Manage lesson structure and behaviour
Encourage participation across all abilities

The classroom environment
Lessons are structured and organised
Students understand expectations
Participation is encouraged
Behaviour remains controlled

Skills and experience
Experience teaching Music or strong musical background
Confidence with practical delivery
Classroom management skills
Organisation and planning

What success looks like
Students participate confidently
Progress is visible in performance
Lessons feel focused and productive

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with performance or music-related backgrounds
