About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Midday Supervisor to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you will play an important role in ensuring students are safe, happy, and well-supported during lunchtime and break periods. Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and support to children, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and individual needs are met at all times.
- Monitor playgrounds, dining areas, classrooms, and other designated areas to ensure students remain safe and supervised.
- Support students during lunchtime routines, including entering and leaving the dining area, queuing, and eating appropriately.
- Assist students who may require additional support during lunchtime or outdoor activities.
- Encourage students to participate positively in playground games and activities.
- Help create a welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyable environment where all students feel safe and supported.
- Respond appropriately to minor incidents, accidents, and behavioural concerns, reporting any issues to the appropriate member of staff.
- Provide basic first aid where appropriately trained and follow the school's procedures for accidents and emergencies.
- Support students who may have additional needs, including SEND, during lunchtime and outdoor activities.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment throughout lunch and break periods.
- Monitor the safety of playground equipment and report any hazards or concerns promptly.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and the wider school team.
- Support the school's behaviour, safeguarding, and health and safety policies at all times.
- Promote the school's values and encourage students to demonstrate kindness, respect, and positive behaviour.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
- A calm, patient, friendly, and approachable manner.
- The ability to manage and respond appropriately to challenging behaviour.
- The confidence to supervise groups of children and maintain appropriate boundaries.
- A proactive and responsible approach to maintaining children's safety and wellbeing.
- Good teamwork and organisational skills.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
