A specialist provision in the Leyland area is looking for a passionate Maths Teacher to join their fantastic team from after the March 2024 half-term! (Start date: Monday 15th April 2024). This provision provides full-time education for pupils aged 4 to 11 years who have struggled to access the curriculum in a mainstream school, and also offers 12 week placements for pupils who are at risk of permanent exclusion.

As a Maths Teacher you will be required to plan and deliver high quality Maths lessons to pupils with additional needs, following the National Curriculum as closely as possible, whilst also adhering to any Educational Healthcare Plans where necessary. You will be required to liaise with TA’s, SLT and parents to ensure each child is maximising their potential and that they are 100% supported. You must be experienced and confident in facing challenging behaviour and you will be required to implement relevant behaviour strategies, maintaining a calm approach at all times.

Requirements:

  • Have a qualification in Maths (A-level or equivalent).
  • Experience/confidence with handling challenging behaviour.
  • A genuine passion for working with and supporting pupils with SEMH.
  • Able to remain calm in high pressure environments.
  • Develop communication and interaction, personal, social, emotional and academic skills.

  • Start date: Monday 15th April 2024.
  • Contract type: Temp-perm.
  • Working hours: Full time (8:30am-3:30pm, Mon-Fri).
  • Pay rate: £110 - £200 per day.
