Smile Education are currently working in partnership with a welcoming and community-focused secondary school in North Manchester to recruit a passionate and committed Mathematics Teacher.

The role is suitable for experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs), with the position expected to begin in September 2026 for the new academic year.

Role Overview
As a Mathematics Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering Maths across KS3 and KS4, supporting students in developing confidence, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of key mathematical concepts.
A key focus of the role will be preparing students for GCSE examinations, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed. You will create engaging and well-structured lessons that support progress for pupils of all abilities.
The successful candidate will be joining a school where strong subject knowledge, professional standards, and positive classroom practice are highly valued. You will be expected to build strong relationships with pupils and staff, contribute to the wider Maths department, and uphold the values and expectations of the school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Prepare students effectively for GCSE Maths examinations
  • Teach in line with the national curriculum, ensuring strong progress and attainment
  • Create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing targeted support where required
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Contribute to the wider Maths department and school community
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold school expectations
Requirements
The successful candidate will:
  • Have experience delivering Mathematics within a secondary school or educational setting
  • Possess strong subject knowledge in Mathematics (a degree in Maths or a related field is desirable)
  • Demonstrate effective teaching or classroom delivery skills, including supporting students towards GCSE outcomes
  • Exhibit confident classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Be professional, reliable, and adaptable
  • Have a genuine passion for Mathematics and student achievement
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
  • Have the right to work in the UK
Pay & Benefits
  • £170 – £235 per day, dependent on experience and role responsibilities
