Long-term with potential to become permanent

Are you a Level 3 Teaching Assistant looking for a role where you can properly settle into one school and become part of the team?

I’m recruiting for a primary school in Bootle that needs an experienced Teaching Assistant to join its KS1 team after the October half-term break.

This is a full-time position with a consistent class and staff team. The school is looking for someone who can get involved from day one, support pupils who need extra help and work closely with the class teacher to keep learning moving.

For the right person, there is potential for the role to become permanent.

You’ll spend most of your time supporting children within a KS1 classroom. This will include:

  • Working with individual pupils and small groups
  • Supporting phonics, reading, writing and early maths
  • Helping children understand instructions and stay engaged
  • Preparing resources and helping with classroom organisation
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and independence
  • Providing additional support for pupils who need more time or reassurance
  • Sharing feedback with the class teacher
  • Contributing to a calm, inclusive and well-run classroom

The school needs someone who is happy to use their initiative rather than waiting to be directed throughout the day.

You should have:

  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Recent experience in a primary school
  • A good understanding of KS1 learning and classroom routines
  • Confidence supporting children in groups and individually
  • A patient but consistent approach
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • The reliability to commit to a long-term, full-time role

You’ll also have access to training and ongoing support from me throughout the placement.

If you’re a qualified Teaching Assistant looking for consistent work in one Bootle primary school, please apply with your latest CV.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
