Teaching Personnel is working closely with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Washington area to recruit a Level 3 Qualified Teaching Assistant for a full-time position. This role is suitable for a committed and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development.

The successful candidate may be required to work across EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, depending on school needs and individual strengths. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a supportive school environment.


As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils’ learning both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. You will work alongside the class teacher to help create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment where all pupils can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.


  • Support the class teacher with the planning and delivery of engaging lessons
  • Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning objectives
  • Provide additional support to pupils with SEND, EAL, or those requiring extra help
  • Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of learning resources
  • Support pupils with their social, emotional and behavioural development
  • Encourage positive behaviour in line with school policies
  • Support with personal care when required (particularly in EYFS)
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – essential
  • Previous experience working in a primary school setting
  • Confidence working across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A caring, patient and proactive approach
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Teaching Personnel)
