Teaching Personnel is recruiting caring and motivated Level 2 Teaching Assistants to work across a range of primary and secondary schools in Sheffield. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping children reach their full potential and who thrive in a supportive school environment.

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons.
  • Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting pupil engagement.
  • Helping to prepare classroom resources and learning activities.
  • Supporting pupils with varying learning needs, including SEND where appropriate.
  • Supervising pupils during lessons, breaktimes and educational activities.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A recognised Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
  • A patient, caring and enthusiastic approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to adapt to different schools and classroom environments.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and supporting children's wellbeing.

Previous experience supporting pupils with additional needs is beneficial but not essential.

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Be able to provide two professional references covering the past two years.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
