About the Role
Are you a caring and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you’ll play an important role in supporting pupils’ learning, development, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive, and effective lessons across the curriculum.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils, helping them to develop their academic, social, and emotional skills.
- Assist pupils with their learning by explaining tasks, reinforcing key concepts, and encouraging independent learning.
- Support pupils with additional learning needs, adapting activities and resources where appropriate.
- Help prepare classroom resources, displays, and learning materials to support effective teaching and learning.
- Monitor pupils’ progress and provide feedback to the class teacher on their learning, behaviour, and development.
- Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence, and positive attitudes towards learning.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, support staff, parents, and other professionals to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
- Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
- A patient, caring, and supportive approach to working with pupils.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
