Hours: Mon-Fri 8:30am-15:30pm

About the role

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and committed Level 2 SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the SEND team to support pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, helping them to access learning, develop their confidence and achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide individual and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
  • Support pupils with their learning, communication, social and emotional development.
  • Assist teachers with classroom activities and the implementation of individual support plans.
  • Help pupils develop independence and positive behaviour.
  • Support pupils during lessons, break times and other school activities where required.
  • Work effectively with teachers, SEND staff, parents/carers and external professionals.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
  • Record and communicate relevant observations and progress.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds, or is working towards, a Level 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent qualification.
  • Has a genuine interest in supporting children and young people with SEND.
  • Is patient, compassionate and resilient.
  • Has good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Is reliable, adaptable and willing to learn.
  • Has an understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
