Support Young Learners at a Welcoming Primary School in Hull Smile Education is recruiting on behalf of a friendly, inclusive primary academy in East Hull, seeking a passionate Level 2 Nursery Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team from September 2026.

This well-established primary school is recognised for its nurturing ethos, strong community values and commitment to ensuring every child receives the best possible start to their education. Staff work collaboratively to create a safe, stimulating and engaging environment where children develop confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.

The Role
As a Level 2 Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging Early Years learning activities.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing and stimulating nursery environment.
  • Encourage children's learning through play and exploration.
  • Support children's personal, social, emotional and language development.
  • Assist with observations and contribute towards children's learning records.
  • Promote positive behaviour and build strong relationships with children and families.
  • Support children with varying learning needs to help them reach their full potential.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, resources and daily routines.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who has:
  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification.
  • A genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Experience working within a UK nursery, preschool or primary school Early Years setting.
  • A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
Requirements
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education.
  • Ability to provide two years of employment and/or education references, including one relating to working with children. Providing referee details during your registration will help ensure a smooth compliance process and the quickest possible clearance.
  • Right to work in the UK.
