We are currently recruiting SEN Learning Support Assistants for welcoming primary schools across Grays and the surrounding Thurrock area, with opportunities available from September 2026 and throughout the new academic year.

Choose day-to-day or bank work and have the freedom to work around your availability gaining experience across different schools and SEN environments.

Working across different settings can give you exposure to a wide range of additional needs, approaches and specialist support strategies - helping you grow your confidence and experience along the way.

As an SEN LSA, you'll play a huge part in helping children access education, develop their independence and reach their potential.

You may provide one-to-one or small-group support, working alongside class teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to ensure pupils receive the individualised support they need.

Many of the pupils you support may have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), giving you the opportunity to work towards specific targets and help children make meaningful academic, social and emotional progress.

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEN.
• Supporting children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, moderate and severe learning difficulties and physical disabilities.
• Supporting strategies and targets outlined within pupils' EHCPs.
• Adapting activities and learning to meet individual needs.
• Encouraging communication, independence, confidence and positive social interaction.
• Supporting positive behaviour through calm, consistent approaches.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and other professionals.
• Building trusting and positive relationships with pupils.
• Providing emotional, social and academic support.
• Supporting personal care where required, depending on the individual setting.

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Experience within education, care, support or youth work settings.
• An understanding of additional needs and personalised support.
• Experience or knowledge of EHCPs is desirable.
