Are you someone who enjoys helping children learn, grow and feel confident in themselves?
We’re currently looking for Learning Support Assistants to join our team and support primary schools across Cardiff from September 2026.
What does a Learning Support Assistant actually do?
No two days are ever quite the same!
You’ll work closely with teachers and other staff to help create a positive environment where children feel supported, included and confident in their learning.
Some of the things you may be involved in:
- Supporting pupils with their learning, either 1:1 or as part of a small group.
- Helping the class teacher with activities, resources and general classroom support.
- Working with children who may need some extra help to stay focused and engaged during lessons.
- Supporting pupils during different parts of the school day, including group work, outdoor activities and transitions between lessons.
- Building positive relationships with children and becoming a supportive presence in the classroom.

- Support or care work
- Mentoring
- Residential settings
- ALN/SEN support
- Volunteering with children or young people
It could also be a great opportunity for
Psychology, Education or Childhood Studies graduates looking to gain valuable hands-on experience in schools.
